Respiratory illnesses

Yes, despite all the awareness of Covid, we’re also seeing a resurgence of the flu and other respiratory illnesses at this time of year.

For further information on COVID 19 and flu vaccines, please go to the BC Centre for Disease Control.

Those with any respiratory symptoms (including sore throat, headache, runny nose, cough, fever, diarrhea, or shortness of breath) are requested to advise our staff when booking your appointment.

Island Health policy requires you to wear a medical mask for your appointment - one can be provided for you if you do not have one.

Be kind, be calm, and stay safe.

Launching Wavecrest

The Story of Wavecrest...

The Wavecrest was a cruiser that sailed the waters of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay from the 1950s. It was launched every spring, and required a full 24 hours of bailing-out before the cedar-strip hull swelled tight enough to seal the cracks, and the boat could sail on for another summer.

Like the Wavecrest, many of us go through times when we feel we're dried out and sinking. With hard work and great support, we too can bail out, rise up, and sail on!

Wavecrest Medical Clinic opened in Courtenay in January 2018. Our mission is to provide excellent medical care to ensure our patients keep sailing and achieve their goals.
